The Solway Mule Feeder is suitable for most UTV`s, Mule, Gator, Kubota etc. If you are intending to fit the machine to some of the plastic bed models such as Polaris Can Am and some of the new Honda range of UTV`s extra strengthening / load bearing plates should be fitted on both sides of the bed by your UTV dealer. It can also be mounted in the load spaces of Landover`s, 4x4`s & pickups.

By scattering feed along the length of each feed ride and planning your entire feed route carefully, you will not only save yourself time, but you will also see your birds become wilder with less flushing, leading to a better spread over the guns.

The Solway Mule Feeder is totally weather proof and designed for constant flexing over rough ground. The unit has quick release fasteners which attach to a fixed plate in the carry space and this unobtrusive panel does not get in the way when the hopper is dismounted. The hopper is moulded from strong polyethylene with a recommended maximum capacity of 200kg. The lid is designed to be easily lifted and the hinged door is fully waterproof. The efficient spinner has raised rolled edges to prevent spillage. The mule feeder scatters food up to a fourteen foot spread, and although the flow rate is fixed, the feed rate can be controlled by a convenient button. Approx. 250g / 0.5lb feed per second based on cleaned dry wheat. The feed rate is set based on using clean dry wheat. When feeding pellets or a mixture of pellets and wheat the feed rate will be reduced and you may need to "spin" for a longer time. It is not recommended for larger kernel such as whole maize of large sunflower seeds or the like, but we can supply a modified version for these large feeds at extra cost, please contact our sales or technical department for more information.

Used cleaned / sieved feed only, stones and foreign matter will damage your feeder and void your warranty.

The powerful 12vdc high torque motor runs from the vehicle`s battery, via a very basic wiring loom provided with this item, (Does not include switch gear, relay switching or fusing link). Connection must be made to a switched, fused supply 15 amp fuse rating from the vehicle electrical system. We strongly recommend the use of a 20/30 amp fused relay in the circuit to protect the machine and vehicle wiring circuit. We can supply a custom loom to your requirements at additional cost, please contact our sales or technical department for more details. If you are in any doubt about the wiring to your vehicle please contact your ATV/UTV dealer or a qualified auto-electrician.

The utv tail-gate is best removed or in the fully lowered position. If the vehicle has a rear tipping mechanism this must be securely locked in the load carrying position.

We supply a variety of spare and supplementary parts for this item, including aluminium bosses, spinner plates, motors and high output motor housings.
